A graveside service for Richard "Dick Tracy" Deland Dominey, 54, is scheduled for 1 p.m., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Hebron Cemetery in Broaddus, Texas with Bro. Rick Russell and Pastor Paul Smith officiating.

He was born on January 22, 1969, to Jerry and Gwendolyn Dominey in Lufkin, Texas and went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2023. Richard was a daredevil child who was always looking for an adventure. He spent his younger years helping his parents in his family's sawmill and built his first motor at the age of 11. Richard was a dreamer with an entrepreneurial spirit. He had many "jobs" throughout his life including owning a restaurant, sawmill, trucking, and logging. Richard loved working with his hands and spent much of his free time working as a diesel mechanic free of charge to many in his community. His adventurous spirit continued into adulthood as he enjoyed drag racing, fishing, and telling scary stories to the kids. Above all else Richard loved his family and spending time with them making wonderful memories that they will cherish forever.

Richard was preceded in death by his dad, Jerry Lynn Dominey; and an angel baby.

Left to cherish Richard's memory is his mom, Gwen Dominey Turner of San Augustine; loving wife of 35 years, Colinda (Davis) Dominey of Broaddus; daughters, Trisha Burch and husband Chris of Broaddus, Remy Smith and husband Mason of Tyler, Darby Jones and husband Blake of San Diego, and Evey Dominey of Broaddus; and bonus children, Josh Vaughan and Jadyn Perkins. He is also survived by his brother, Detre Lynn Dominey and wife Karen of Centerville; sister, Deborah Evans and husband David of San Augustine; grandchildren, Maddy, Weston, Lexi, Haddie, KK, and Boston, and numerous nieces, nephews, coworkers, and friends.
