DOROTHY MAE MATLOCK

Funeral mass for Dorothy Mae Matlock, 92, of Hemphill, was held Wednesday, January 3, 2024 in St. Pius I Catholic Church, 309 Starr St, Hemphill, TX 75948 with Father Emmanuel Akpobolokemi officiating.

She passed away Friday, December 29, 2023 in Lufkin, Texas.

Dorothy was born January 9, 1931 in Port Arthur, Texas to Essey Martin and Ella Mae Kingston Martin. She was a resident of Sabine County for the past 34 years and was a member of St. Pius I Catholic Church in Hemphill. She was a loving wife and mother and loved fishing, raising flowers and feeding the birds.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, L. C. Matlock of Hemphill; sons, David Matlock and wife, Terryle, of Goodwin, TX, Jimmie Matlock and wife, Carolyn, of Pittsburg, TX and Glenn Matlock and wife, Linda, of Goodwin, TX; brother, Robert Martin and wife, Dusty, of Boerne, TX; sister, Juanita Edgerton of Groves; grandchildren, John, Steven, Julie, Becky and Kelly; and numerous great grandchildren.

Burial followed services in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, LA-157, Plain Dealing, LA 71064 under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
