Funeral services for Glendene Hoyle, 69, of Hemphill, Texas were held Saturday, January 20, 2024 in Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor H. F. Johnson officiating. She passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.

Glendene was born July 25, 1954 in Houston, Texas to Curtis Page and Glenmore Thomas Page. She was a graduate of Cashmere High School in Houston and had worked as a Barber before becoming a Medical Assistant and CNA in the medical field. She had been a Sabine County resident since 1992, having lived in several places, among them, Clovis, NM, Las Vegas, NV, San Bernadino, CA, Altus, OK, and Bossier City, LA while her husband, Vance, was serving in the United States Air Force.

An active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Glendene loved to help out others any way she could. She would deliver lunches to those who weren't able to go out and give rides to her elderly neighbors to their doctor visits. She enjoyed fishing and hunting and she loved gardening, whether it was vegetables or flowers. She also liked sewing, going to garage sales and the many thrift stores she would come across.

Glendene is survived by her husband of nearly 49 years, Vance Cecil Hoyle, Jr. of Hemphill; sons, Melvin Servarrio Page and wife, Pamela, of Houston and Vance Hoyle III of Hemphill; daughter, Kenisha Smith of Hemphill; brother, Curtis C. Page of Houston; half-brothers, Byron Page and wife, Jenny, Brent Page, Barry Page and Benjamin Page, all of Houston; step-brother, Walter Smith of Tulsa, OK; sisters, Pamela Blake and husband, Jimmy, of Geneva and Martha Derouen and husband, Anthony, of San Augustine; half- sister, Laura Ware and husband, Ed, of Houston; step-sister, Phyllis Smith of Tulsa, OK; sister/cousin, Margie Watkins and husband, Michael, of San Augustine; her grandchildren, Kieshon, Kieyana, Manami, McKinley, Braden and Paisley; great grandchildren, Jakavery, Jayshon and Kayden; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
