TIMOTHY GERALD SHRADER, JR.

Timothy G Shrader, Jr. of Hemphill, Texas, formerly of Havre de Grace, Maryland, passed away at home on January 24, 2024 with his wife by his side after a brief fight with Leukemia. He was 83 years old. He was predeceased by his first wife and love of his life, Mary Catherine Shrader (nee Sine) and his parents, Timothy G. Shrader, Sr. and Louise Shrader (nee Jones).

He is survived by his second wife, Sara J. Shrader and his three children, Nancy Roxanne Lynch (David) of Havre de Grace, Maryland, Timothy G. Shrader, III (Katherine) of Bridgewater, Virginia, and Bonnie Lee Ritter (Eric) of Darlington, Maryland. He is also survived by his sister, Penelope Jo Giampapa (Michael) of Port St. Lucie, Florida. Tim had 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with another due in a couple months. Also cherishing his memory are Sara's daughters, Michelle Baldwin, Kimberly Thomas, and Laura Bess Frye whom he loved and thought of as his daughters, as well.

Tim served four years with the Maryland National Guard after graduating from Havre de Grace High School in 1958. He went on to have a long and illustrious career at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a Senior Electronics Technician, receiving several accommodations and awards working on various Department of Defense projects including the development of the on-board systems that gather live data from tanks, trucks, and Humvees. Tim was well liked and kept many lifelong friendships with those who graduated from high school with him and with those who worked side by side with him in the Guard and APG.

In his younger days, Tim enjoyed camping with his family and boating and fishing on the Susquehanna River. After retirement Tim and Sara moved from Maryland and lived in several locations, Hulett, Wyoming, Panama City, Florida, Ramah, Colorado and settling in Hemphill, Texas. He and Sara enjoyed several road trips across the country visiting family and friends that they made along their journey.

Tim will be brought to his hometown of Havre de Grace, Maryland where a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill, Texas.
