NINA (LOFTIN) STEPTOE

Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Lovenia Thacker Steptoe, age 91, of San Augustine County, are set for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Attoyac Baptist Church, FM 3316 in San Augustine County. Interment will follow at Attoyac Cemetery. She passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, in San Augustine. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home, located at 316 W. Columbia Street in San Augustine.

She was born October 17, 1932, in San Augustine County and was a longtime area resident. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Steptoe had been employed by Mathews-Miller Department Store as well as working with Dr. C. Bryce Thomas.

Her survivors include a daughter, Patsy J. Wade Loftin of Lafayette, Louisiana; a son, James W. Wade Jr. and wife Salena of San Augustine, Texas; and a son-in-law, Skipper Payne of Jasper, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, James W. Wade; grandchild, Ryan Payne; daughter, Jo Beth Wade Payne; granddaughter, Taylor Caitlin Payne; and husband, Tommie Joe Steptoe.
