REV. WESLEY LANE PATE

Funeral services for Rev. Wesley Lane Pate, 88, of Bronson, were held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Alton Harwell officiating. Burial followed in Bronson Cemetery. He passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Lufkin, Texas.

Bro. Pate was born October 1, 1935 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to James Benjamin Pate and Belva Kate Pate. He was a longtime, beloved minister in Sabine County and pastor of Hemphill Missionary Baptist Church. He had resided in Bronson since 1988, having previously lived in Houston. When he wasn't preaching or ministering, you could find him faithfully studying his Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Pate of Bronson; sons, Wesley Pate, Jr. and wife, Mary, of Chireno, Harlen Dale Crites and wife, Priscilla, of Mulhaul, OK, Barry Glen Crites and wife, Laurie, of Little Rock, AR and Troy Dean Pate of Bronson; daughters, Amy Louise Horne and husband, Jimmy Ray, of Broaddus, Marla Faye Erick of Malvern, AR and Rebecca Benje Holloway and husband, Joey, of Broaddus; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
