JOE RICHARD SMITH

Funeral services for Mr. Joe Richard Smith, age 67, of San Augustine, were held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Wyman Robert Memorial Chapel with Bro. Cliff Durham and Bro. Wade Bryan officiating. He passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024, in Center.

Mr. Smith was born February 22, 1956, in Huntsville, to parents Frankie Dee (Walker) and Quincy Smith and had been a resident of the San Augustine area for most of his life. He was an HVAC service technician and retired from Chireno A/C and Heating with 38 years of service. Bro. Joe loved the Lord and was dedicated to Him as an active member and deacon of Rosevine Baptist Church. Spending time with his family as well and hunting and fishing were favorite past times for Joe.

His survivors include his wife, Janice L. Smith of San Augustine; daughter, Melanie Whitton of San Augustine; a son, Toby Joe Smith of Dallas; grandchildren, Devon Smith, Tyler Smith, and David Whitton; great-grandchildren, Olivia Whitton, Cooper Whitton, and Eli Whitton; and his sisters, Carrie Griffin of San Augustine, Sue Williford of Center, and Laura Lee Janisch.
