CINDY ANN DORN
The funeral services for Cindy Ann Dorn, 57, of Bronson, Texas were held at Starr Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. David Ebarb officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Cindy passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at her residence.
Burial followed in Brookeland Cemetery with Cody Retherford, Timothy Brown, Jesse Retherford, Johnny Jones, Zachary Retherford, Jesse Moody and Oscar (Shorty) Rether
Cindy was born March 1, 1966 in Jasper, Texas to Oscar Retherford and Margie Chappell. She was a 35-year resident of Sabine County, having previously lived in Vidor, Texas.
Cindy had a talent for cooking and enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, making meals for her loved ones.
In addition to her love for cooking, Cindy also enjoyed gambling whenever she had the chance.
Cindy is survived by her mother, Margie Chappell of Bronson; sons, James Ronald Dorn, Jr. and Keith Grover Dorn, both of Bronson; daughter, Jamie Bowersox and husband, Rick, of Bryan; brothers, James Retherford of Bronson, Jack Retherford and wife, Kim, of Zavalla and Oscar (Shorty) Retherford of Bronson; sisters, Joyce Brown of Bronson and Joanna Moody and husband, Malcolm, of Bronson; and grandchild, Abigale Bowersox.
She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Retherford; husband, Jimmy Dorn; brother, Joe Retherford; sister, Loretta Motes; nieces, Victoria Alyssa Renee Retherford and Lee Ann Bridges; and nephews, Justin Motes and Byron Motes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Starr Funeral Home, located at 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas.
