DIANNE LEE SMITH POUNDS

Dianne Lee Smith Pounds quietly passed from this life on February 11, 2024 after a prolonged illness. Dianne was born March 7, 1949 in Norfolk, Virginia to parents James Howell and Phyllis Smith. The Smith family moved to San Augustine in the fall of 1958. Dianne graduated from San Augustine High School in 1968.

She leaves behind her husband of 50 years, John Pounds, Jr.; their son John Pounds, III (Trey) and his wife, Kimberly and daughter, Campbell of Sequin; their daughter, Kendall Barney and her husband, Jeff, and son, Korbin, of San Diego, Ca.

Also mourning her passing are her sisters, Phyllis and Jan, of Austin; brother, Jody and his wife, Susan, of Portland Oregon; Jody's daughter Anna, her husband Darrin and their children, Audrey and Colin of Sacramento, CA.; Jody's son Justin, his wife Terri and daughter Maia of Portland, Oregon.

Dianne was a gifted seamstress and quilter, making beautiful quilts at the birth of each grandchild. She loved to travel and would take every opportunity to zip-line in Costa Rica, stand under the Eiffel Tower or trudge through the snow in Canada.

She will live on in all of our hearts.
