WILLIAM "BILL" EUGENE BERTRAND

William "Bill" Eugene Bertrand passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, in Hemphill, Texas, at the age of 86. Born to the late Atley Bertrand and Alma Joyner Bertrand on March 2, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, Bill lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and service to his community.

As a self-employed Civil Engineer and the respected owner of CSM Canvas Mfg., Bill, along with his wife, Chris, provided invaluable custom equipment to athletic trainers across the globe. His unwavering support of athletic professionals, through both his enterprise and his personal endeavors, touched many lives within the sports community.

As a true American, Bill was a member of the Patriot Guard, exemplifying his love for his country through action and commitment. His service extended locally, where he dutifully took on the role of Marshall at Rayburn Cypress Bend and enjoyed the camaraderie of golf with friends and family.

Bill's memory will be forever held in the hearts of his loving wife, Christine Marie Bertrand of Hemphill; his sons, William Michael "Mikey" Bertrand and wife, Mandy, of Shreveport, La., Douglas Bertrand and wife, Rhonda, of Sour Lake, Robert Bertrand and wife, Patrice, of Beaumont, Tommy Bertrand and wife, Yvette, of Houston; daughters, Mary Lowe and husband, Wes, of Lumberton and Shannin Williams and Rob Moya of Galveston, son-in-law, Eric Williams of Hemphill; and his brother, Bobby Bertrand. His legacy will live on through his grandchildren, Erica Williams and Kristen, Brittany Patillo and Chad, Morgan Blue and Alex, Ty Michael Bertrand, Jacob, Trentan, Kody, Allen, Baylee, Brennan, Kelsie, Carly, Ashton and Tori and numerous great-grandchildren.

Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Kathy Radford and son-in-law, Richard Radford.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home of Hemphill.
