Billy Joe Collins

Billy Joe Collins, 71, of San Augustine passed away March 25, 2024 in San Augustine. He was born April 16, 1952 in Rusk, TX to Herschel Clyde Collins and Margaret Marie McNeil Collins. Billy worked as a lineman for different electrical companies and co-ops in the area. He loved hunting, farming, raising chickens and working around the house.

He is survived by his children: Kelly Collins and his wife, Wendy of Wells, TX, Billy Collins and his wife Kristi of San Augustine, Bryan Collins of San Augustine, Bobby Collins and his wife Tessa of San Augustine, Crystal Crawford and her husband Thomas of Jacksonville; his girlfriend, Elaine Wilkinson of San Augustine; grandchildren: Britini Hutchinson, Chance Collins, Kayley Gilbert, Leeah Wilburn, Abbie Collins, Justin Collins, Clyde Collins, and Lance Collins; eight great grandchildren; brother: Bobby L. Collins of Oakland, TX; sisters: Virginia Ann Collins of Dialville, Pansy Ruth Simmons of Jacksonville, and Brenda Kay Brumit of Oakland, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Tony Collins and Billy Ray Collins and sister: Bobby Sue Regan.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk with Pastor Bruce Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Hendricks Cemetery in Buelah. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 11 to 12:00 p.m. also at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Rusk.
