LUCAS WAYNE LAKEY

Funeral services for Mr. Lucas Wayne Lakey, 21, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Wyman Roberts Memorial Chapel. There will be a private graveside service. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024 at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. He passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, at University Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, at the age of 21 years, 4 months, 27 days.

Lucas was born November 24, 2002, in Lufkin, to Kristel Bryan and Jacky Lakey, and had been a longtime resident of the Broaddus and Lufkin areas. He graduated from Broaddus High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball. Lucas was a pile driver, working in construction.

He had a great passion for music, especially playing the guitar and singing. In addition to music, he was also passionate about the outdoors and activities, especially fishing and squirrel hunting. Lucas had a love for playing video games and also enjoyed thrift shopping.

Lucas is survived by his soul mate, Mattie Truitt of Lufkin; mother and stepfather, Kristel and Nicholas Johns of Huntington; dad, Scott Floyd of Broaddus; father, Jacky Lakey of Broaddus; siblings, Jera Brittain and husband, T.J. of Hemphill, Lee Floyd of Huntington, Karter Floyd of Broaddus, Mason Johns of Huntington and Wyatt Johns of Huntington; grandparents, Margaret Wagstaff of Broaddus and Jimmy Bryan, Sr. of San Augustine.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine.
