WALTER ALLEN WILSON, JR.

Walter Allen Wilson, Jr., 79, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in Timber Ridge Nursing Home, Jasper, Texas. He was born on January 14, 1945, in Church Point, Louisiana, to Walter A. Wilson, Sr. and Lena DeFreese Wilson.

Walter was a machinist in petroleum refineries for many years until his retirement. A resident of Sabine County since 1997, he had previously lived in Waller, Texas. Walter was a 50-year Mason and a member of Littleton Fowler Masonic Lodge #305.

Walter enjoyed fishing on Toledo Bend, reading Western books, and visiting with his friends. He worshipped at the First Methodist Church of Hemphill.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Wilson of Hemphill; son, Shon Warren and wife, Shuwanna; brother, Ardis Wilson and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Walter Kade Wilson, Madyson Warren, and Kate-Lynne Warren.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Allen Wilson, Sr. and Lena Wilson and his son, Walter Kevin Wilson.

Private services will be held at a later date.
