SID MITCHELL RICHARDSON

Sid Mitchell Richardson, 67, passed away on July 23, 2025, in Hemphill, Texas. He was born on March 16, 1958, in Beaumont, Texas to Sidney and Neva Richardson. A veteran of the United States Army, Sid served his country with honor before embarking on a long career as a surveyor.  

For the past ten years, Sid made his home in Sabine County, where he found peace among the piney woods of East Texas. Before that, he spent many years in the Midland/Odessa area of the Panhandle. No matter where he lived, Sid brought with him a deep appreciation for simple pleasures—riding motorcycles through wide-open landscapes, casting a line into quiet waters while fishing, and savoring a cold Budweiser alongside a perfectly grilled steak.

Sid’s memory lives on through his daughters: Tonya Richardson and Alex Wilsford of Waxahachie; Vickie Golden and her husband Jim, also of Waxahachie; and Cristina Richardson and Daniel of Mesquite. He is also remembered by his brother, J.R. Richardson of Alvarado and brother-in-law, Elton Verrett; numerous grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home in Hemphill.
