HUSEYIN "TURK" SAKA

Huseyin "Turk" Saka, 78, of Milam, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Sabine County Hospital in Hemphill.

Mr. Saka was born is Cesme, Turkey on December 27, 1944 to Ali Saka and Saime Yavuz. He had earned his Bachelor's Degree and worked as an electrical engineer in petroleum refineries many years before retiring.

A longtime resident of Rochester, New York, he moved to Sabine County, Texas in 1975. He loved working on his property, fishing and sailing. He also enjoyed competition trap and skeet shooting.

Huseyin is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Saka of Milam; son, Steven Saka and wife, Cindy, of Dunbarton, New Hampshire; daughter, Treena Saka of San Augustine; stepsons, Douglas Johnson and wife, Wendy, of Tualatin, OR, Kevin Johnson of Mesa, AZ, Brandon Johnson and wife, Summer, of Flagstaff, AZ; Leman Agirdas and husband, Mustafa Cengiz Agirdas, of Turkey; numerous grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. in Starr Funeral Home Chapel, 510 Starr Street, Hemphill, Texas with Bro. Floyd Wright officiating.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service.

Cremation arrangements were handled by Starr Funeral Home.
