JAMES WALTER GIPSON

Memorial services for Mr. James Walter Gipson, 74, of San Augustine will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 4216 County Road 220, San Augustine. He passed from this life on Sunday, July 9, 2023 in the Woodlands.

James was born May 2, 1949 in Nacogdoches to Edna (Henderson) Fay and James Douglas Gipson. Mr. Gipson enjoyed watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed driving around and eating breakfast at different places during his drives.

Survivors include sons, James Howard “Bubba” Gipson and Shelby Lee Gipson; step-daughter, Kathy Ann Giselman; step-sons, Andrew Brent Giselman and Michael Leron Schultz; grandchildren, Stephen James Luman, Joshana Michael Luman, Chloe Luman, and Elliana Lynn Luman; sister, Linda Fay Fountain; brother, Johnny Nelson Parker; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded by death by parents; wife, Mary Lynn Gipson (1985); and daughter, Janet Lynn Luman (2019).
