FRANCES LINDA JAMES

A Memorial Service for Frances Linda James, 80, of Hemphill will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Starr Funeral Home Chapel in Hemphill, Texas.

Francis "Linda" James followed her soul mate and beloved husband, Kurt Butler, to be in the arms of our Savior February 3, 2023. There she met her mama, Arletha "Arlie" Cooper; daddy, Jesse Howard James; brother, little Cole Harold, and 3 beautiful sisters, Bennie "Neni" Adkins; Betty Lou Foster and Dorothy Juan Hart. What a reunion!
She is survived by her three daughters, Linda and husband, Terry McCue; Toni and husband, Matt Wolff, and Angel James Butler; 8 adored grandchildren who know her as mamalynn: Joshua, Wesley, Rachel Lynn, Le'Chelle, Erica, Brooke, Elijah, and Wyatt; as well as many great grandchildren.

She was a devoted, mother, wife, mamalynn, aunt, cousin and friend. To some strangers, their "angel" Mom was always there any time she was needed. She was only a phone call and drive away. She is the strongest person I know. Even in her illness and final earthly days, she declared, "I don’t need medicine; Jesus Christ is all I need!" A woman of unwavering faith, we are so thankful she brought us up in the truth. She was our nurture, rock, shield, best friend, confidant, cheerleader and compass. To this day, she is still pointing us to Christ. Amen. Thank you, Mommy! I thank God for you and miss you every second of every day.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time.
