JONAN BARNETT EBERLAN

Jonan Barnett Eberlan was born September 15, 1942, in Liberty County, TX and went to meet her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2023. She had obtained the age of 80.
Jonan graduated Tarkington High School in 1961. After graduating, she immediately began working on her supervision skills at a local ice cream parlor. While working there she met the love of her life, Roy Eberlan. They would later be married and start their lives together. They would live in various towns including Diboll, Carlisle, and finally San Augustine where they would start a family. Jonan would go on to work for San Augustine ISD as an Administrative Assistant for 10 different superintendents. She retired in 2020 after 45 years of dedicated service to the San Augustine Independent School District.
She is preceded in death by the love of her life Roy Austin Eberlan, her parents Coy and Velma Barnett, 7 sisters and 4 brothers, and an infant daughter.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Skipper and wife Tammy of Broaddus, TX; Alan and wife, Cheryl, of San Augustine, TX; Mickey and wife Davilyn of Woden, TX; and Jeff and wife Cheryl of Basehor KS.; Brothers, Curtis Barnett and wife Jan, Ralph Barnett and wife Helen, and Cecil Barnett, and brother-in-law Rayford Eberlan. She had 9 grandchildren and 22 Great-grandchildren. She also had a very close friend who was always there whenever she needed, Johnny Faye Godsey.
The Family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff and administration of the Summit nursing and rehab facility in San Augustine, TX.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held Saturday August 12, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Attoyac Missionary Baptist Church 600 FM Rd. 3316 San Augustine, TX.
In lieu of flowers the family requests people make a donation in Jonan's name to the Attoyac Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery Fund: 11501 FM 1277 Care of Michael Butler 75972.
