ALICE BLANCHE (WOODS) MURRAY

Graveside services for Mrs. Alice Blanche (Woods) Murray, age 91, of San Augustine, were held Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Erin’s Meadow Cemetery in Rosevine. She passed away early Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hemphill.

Born May 2, 1932, in San Augustine County to parents Ellie Mae (Birdwell) and Hamp W. Woods, she was a lifelong area resident and member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved her family, always seeing to their needs. Mrs. Murray had worked several years as a clerk for Family Shoe Center in San Augustine.

Her survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Jimmy Hardy, Nancy and Eddie Stiles, Gail and Tony Fuller, and Kathy and Jason Boyd; grandchildren, Pam Curbow, April Burkett, Michael Hardy, Cody Stiles, Cade Fuller, Todd Stiles, Tara Lyons (Sam), Savannah Pyron (Montrell), and Bethany Boyd; great-grandchildren, Calli, Cason, Camden, Kera, Kagen, Braden, Brianna, Braxton, Easton, Mason, Payton, Cheyenne, Kylee, Chance, Milo, Nigel, and Niles; and great-great-grandchildren, Avery, Ella, Corbin, Gus, Riverlyn arriving in November, and Woodrow arriving in February.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to either Legacies Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hemphill or the Gideon's International in Blanche's memory.
