Special Mission Speaker to Visit Yellowpine Church
On Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023, Yellowpine-Macedonia Baptist Church will be hosting a special guest speaker for the morning worship service.
Bro. Wayne Stringer serves as director of development for the Philippine Mission Development (PMD) organization. Sunday services begin at 11:00 a.m. and Bro. Stringer will be preaching as well as presenting information about PMD and mission work in the Philippines. Bro. Stringer has been a pastor of East Texas churches for a number of years. Following the service, a covered dish fellowship lunch will be served.
PMD was organized with the idea of providing a means whereby churches can give financial assistance to missions and churches in the Philippine Islands. The vision of PMD is to assist Missionary Baptists churches in the Philippine Islands that desire to grow with a tool that will help them become indigenous and do greater mission work.
In the past missions and churches have found it difficult to raise the necessary funds to purchase property in visible locations and construct buildings that were useful and attractive. All too often buildings were constructed on property that did not belong to the congregation or was in a bad location because it was cheap. PMD's vision is that nice buildings in visible locations can be a tool to help churches become indigenous, able to care for their pastor and useful in carrying out the Great Commission. PMD is sponsored by White Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
A love offering for PMD will be received at the Yellowpine service. Everyone is invited to attend. Contact T.A. Lane at 409-584-1144 or 409-382-8765 for information. Yellowpine-Macedonia Baptist Church is located at 125 Scrappin Valley Road (intersection of Hwy. 87 South and FM 2343) in the Yellowpine community of Sabine County, Texas.
